Tessa Gregory-Walker

Tessa Gregory-Walker is a creative producer, director, actor and stage manager now based in Palm Springs California. She is a Bath Spa Alumni of both the Acting BA and MA in Performing Shakespeare. After graduating in 2014, Tessa has worked extensively at many of the UK's fringe theatre festivals including as a venue manager for Pleasance at the Edinburgh Fringe, Brighton Spiegletent Stage Manager and a venue crew member of the Vault festival in London. Since moving to America she has had a presence both on and offstage and before the pandemic was Technical Supervisor for Desert Theatreworks. After a successful performance series of the COVID Monologues in the fall of 2020, she went on to establish Quake Theatre - A company looking to model itself on accessibility, inclusion and sustainability. We have a great opportunity with QT to collaborate with people from across the globe and integrate our practises and workshops with the work of other non profits in our local community. This is an exciting time to be a creative and we look forward to what the future holds for this young company!

Why do you do what you do?

We all have a unique story of human experience that we are writing for ourselves day by day. I want to hear those stories and encourage creative expression in my community as it can be a wonderful outlet for escape, deepening our understanding of what it means to be human and it is magical when something conjured in the mind makes its way into the physical world we live in.

What’s your role in SparkFest?
