Xavier De Santos (@xavierdesantos) is a freelance movement practitioner based in the South West of England, focusing on movement, choreography, and education. Within his interdisciplinary creative practice, he has created for and with dancers, actors, and other creatives, blurring the lines between disciplines while focusing on the theatricalisation of the moving body. His professional training started at Balleteatro in his hometown, Porto, Portugal, where he studied physical theatre before moving to the UK to complete a BA in Contemporary Dance at Bath Spa University. Most recently, he completed a research Master’s in Performance Practice at Middlesex University, London, which allowed him to begin his practice-as-research journey, specifically in choreographic and devising strategies. Over the last decade, alongside facilitating for Bath Spa University for the Dance and Acting degree, and dance classes at dance schools in Bath and Bristol and community groups, he has also been creating and performing with Dust Ensemble, as well as for the company he co-founded, AllouAqui Dance Theatre.
