Please note that we operate all technical operations on a fringe model.

This means you will have a fixed focus in the rig, limited tech time, and limited tech available - please see below for details.

Ability to playback pre-recorded sound - You MUST bring this downloaded, ready on a USB / External Hard Drive.

Q-Lab will be available to you with a device to be played from.

PROJECTION

Please discuss this with us via your Technical Form, linked in the participant portal. Please note you may need to provide a separate operator for this.

OTHER

We cannot provide phone chargers, or extension leads for anything that needs plugging in on-stage. Please provide your own.

GENERAL BRIEFING

Capacity: Up to 186 seats (flexible depending on balcony usage / stage layout).
Space: Black box theatre with configurable staging (end-on, thrust, in-the-round, etc.)
Tech: Fully equipped with professional lighting, sound, and projection, with technician support

GET IN, LOADING & UNLOADING​

You can load straight into the University Theatre using the stage doors, indicated in the image below in the right hand side red box, where the van is pictured.

On the left hand-side of this image, there is a smaller red box, indicating a 20-minute short-stay parking. Please note further parking is located around the campus, which is pay-and-display, via the JustPark app, or via permit-holders.​​​​​​​​​​​​​

GETTING TO UNIVERSITY THEATRE & PARKING

DRIVING:

From Bath city centre, take the A4 Lower Bristol Road heading west towards Bristol. Once you reach the large Globe roundabout, take the exit onto the A39 towards Wells, then almost immediately take the first left turn into the entrance for Newton Park. Follow the drive up into the campus where signage will direct you to parking areas.

From Bristol, take the A4 heading towards Bath, following signs for the city centre. Stay on the A4 for the entire journey, passing through Keynsham and Saltford, and continue until you approach Bath. Just before entering the city, you will reach the Globe roundabout; take the exit onto the A39 towards Wells, then take the first left turn into Newton Park campus. Continue up the drive following signs to the main buildings and parking.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

Bus Services: From Bath city centre or Bath Spa railway station, walk to a nearby bus stop and take the U3 or U5 university bus heading towards Newton Park.

​

From Bristol Temple Meads, take a train to Bath Spa station, then exit the station and take the U5 university bus towards Newton Park. Alternatively, take the X39 bus from Bristol to Bath and get off at the Globe roundabout, then walk up the road and into the campus entrance, which is about a 15-minute walk.

PARKING​​

Parking is available which are pay-and-display, so after parking you will need to use a ticket machine or the JustPark app to pay for your stay. Spaces can fill up quickly during busy periods, particularly in the morning and early afternoon, so allow extra time to find a space. Disabled parking bays are available closer to main buildings with a valid permit displayed, and all parking areas are within walking distance of the campus facilities.​
