AVAILABLE TECH

Please note that we operate all technical operations on a fringe model.

This means you will have a fixed focus in the rig, limited tech time, and limited tech available - please see below for details.

At the Rondo, we will have the following available for your event:

LIGHTING

Fixed focus in the rig, including:

Spotlight, Stage Left

Spotlight, Centre Stage

Spotlight, Stage Right

SOUND

Ability to playback pre-recorded sound - You MUST bring this downloaded, ready on a USB / External Hard Drive.

Q-Lab available with a device to be played from.

PROJECTION

Available - please bring your own laptop to operate from as a back up.

PLEASE NOTE: Projection beam will cover most of the playing space, and project over performers when projection is on.

OTHER

We cannot provide phone chargers, or extension leads for anything that needs plugging in on-stage. Please provide your own.

GENERAL BRIEFING

  • 105 seat small scale theatre.

  • Full use of the large heated dressing room, with toilets, shower, hand basins, mirrors, microwave, iron, tea & coffee making facilities.

STAGE DIMENSIONS

  • 7.9m wide by 4.2m to tab line or 5.5m to audience.

  • Height is 3.6m to tab line border, approx. 4m at side walls and 6m to ceiling for the centre 4m width of the stage.

  • All the stage walls are painted black.

  • The floor is smooth, wooden floor boarding.​

 

LOADING / UNLOADING

  • Parking for loading is directly in front of the theatre, with a flat path down the side of the building to a fire escape which leads directly onto the stage. Width is limited for large objects.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Gangways and fire exits are to be kept clear and not to be blocked with any equipment. Please ensure all your company knows the whereabouts of fire exits, alarms and fire extinguishers. Also ensure everyone is aware of the escape procedure.

  • There is no smoking anywhere on The Rondo premises.

  • There is no eating or drinking allowed on the roof walkway.

 

GET IN

  • Please avoid excessive noise outside the building, including on the roof.

  • Please be aware of the security of the venue at this time

  • Please keep the back door closed at all times.

  • The Rondo accepts no responsibility for the loss of company valuables.

  • No foyer lights to be turned on during the day. Please use disabled toilet or those in dressing room.

 

SET BUILDING

  • Do not cut wood, paint items or use any polishing sprays on the stage.

  • Please tidy up after yourselves and wash all painting equipment thoroughly.

  • Do not leave any set items outside the theatre

  • Please do not use the foyer for any set building/costume making – this area is used by Rondo staff during the day.

  • The fuse box for all non-stage electrics is situated in a cupboard in the ladies toilet – key 19.


BEFORE, DURING & AFTER THE SHOW

  • The Company must vacate the stage space 35 minutes before the start of the show so that the main doors & bar can be opened.

  • Please do not use any fine loose glitter on the stage.

  • Please be mindful of staining the stage if using fake blood, and use a rug or floor covering where possible.

  • Please do not place any lighting or other scenery/equipment in the stage right exit – this is a fire door that will automatically close if the fire alarm is triggered.

  • No foyer lights are to be turned off during performances.

  • The bar will stay open for up to 30 minutes after the performance ends. Any longer than this is at the discretion of the bar staff.

  • The Theatre must be left spotlessly clean.

  • Please take all set/props with you when you leave. We are unable to store any items not belonging to the theatre, so you must arrange for all large set pieces to be removed before the end of your hire.

  • Remove all your waste, rubbish and set from the theatre. DO NOT leave any rubbish outside the theatre or in our neighbour’s skip at McCall’s.

  • Treat the theatre with respect and use your common sense at all times

GETTING TO THE RONDO & PARKING

GETTING TO THE RONDO

Full address is: Rondo Theatre, St. Saviours Rd, Bath BA1 6RT

From Bath City Centre, take the A4 London Road towards Chippenham, passing Morrisons on your right, you will then pass through a pedestrian crossing. Take the left turn into St Saviour’s Road. Go past the church and The Rondo is a few hundred metres on the left next to the newsagents.

From A46 (Batheaston By-pass) and from Chippenham: at the roundabout at the end of the A46 take the A4 (London Road) towards Bath. On joining the London Road, go through the first set of traffic lights. Then pass through the pelican crossing and take the first turning on the right (Beaufort Place at Rondo sign). Go to the end of this road and turn right at the junction and The Rondo is on the left.

Bus Services: First Bus Number 7 is a regular service from the bus station to Larkhall. Also the number 3 stops 5 minutes walk away on the London Road, as do the Chippenham and Devizes buses.


PARKING


Unfortunately the Rondo does not have its own car park. There is on-street parking which is free after 7pm, but we recommend that you allow plenty of time for finding a space.

There are parking spaces located at Morrisons York Place, Bath, a 10 minute walk from the Rondo.
