THE EGG THEATRE

36 Monmouth St, Bath, BA1 2AN

DATES FOR 2025

For SparkFest 2025, we will be at the Egg Theatre from 26th May - 1st June 2025

VIRTUAL TOUR

GENERAL BRIEFING

The Egg Theatre is an excellent venue for a range of events and performances.

It hosts 120 seats in its main auditorium.

It's predominantly a children's theater located in the shell of a Victorian church hall.

During festivals such as SparkFest, non-children's theatre is also programmed.

The auditorium is shaped like an egg, which is where it gets its name from.

There is no parking at the Theatre itself, however, there are several large car parks within walking distance of the Theatre, including Charlotte Street, Avon Street and Southgate. All charge for evening parking – Charlotte Street £1.50 after 6pm; Southgate approx. £2 per evening, and Avon Street approx. £5 per evening (when last checked).

Blue Badge parking – At present, there are no Blue Badge spaces outside the theatre. However, Blue Badge Holders can park in Resident bays, Pay and Display road bays and in Charlotte Street car park – all Free of Charge and for an unlimited time

The Theatre Royal Bath can be found by following the brown tourist & pedestrian sign posts, and is no more than 10-15 minutes walk from any of the car parks listed.

Please note, traffic around Bath City Centre can be very busy during weekends, especially on Saturday afternoons, and particularly when other events are taking place, e.g. Bath Rugby matches. Please allow plenty of time for parking and getting to the theatre at these times. Matinee audiences may wish to make use of one of the three park and ride schemes which service the City Centre from Lansdown, Odd Down and Newbridge. All drop-off and collection points are within easy walking distance of the Theatre Royal.

LOADING / UNLOADING

During SparkFest, we will not have access to the large loading bay at the rear of the venue.

All participants will need to unload in the drop-off areas close-by, and then find parking elsewhere.

Support on this is available, by contacting production@bathspa.ac.uk
