AVAILABLE TECH
Please note that we operate all technical operations on a fringe model.
This means you will have a fixed focus in the rig, limited tech time, and limited tech available - please see below for details.
At Burdall's Yard, we will have the following available for your event:
LIGHTING
Fixed focus in the rig, including:
LED coloured wash on stage.
Open white front-fill (face/front light).
SOUND
Ability to playback pre-recorded sound - You MUST bring this downloaded, ready on a USB / External Hard Drive.
Q-Lab available with a device to be played from.
PROJECTION
Please let us know if you would like to use projection for your event, as this will need to be discussed for this venue. You can do this via the Production Form linked in the checklist in the Participant Portal.
OTHER
We cannot provide phone chargers, or extension leads for anything that needs plugging in on-stage. Please provide your own.

GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
OVERVIEW
Audience foyer with a cafe/bar.
Easily change the audience seating arrangement - standing, sitting, in the round, end-on etc.
Perfect for intimate or promenade performances with the use of multiple rooms.
Four possible performance spaces.
EXAMPLES OF USE
Theatre, live music, stand-up comedy.
Installations, galleries.
Immersive / promenade performances across the whole venue.
Multi-media performances with projection on a screen or the back wall.
SPACES AVAILABLE
Burdall’s Yard is a venue perfect for a huge variety of performances. There are several rooms available which can all become performance spaces.
MAIN STAGE
The Main Stage is the largest space in the venue and suitable for a wide range of performances, including live music, dance, comedy and theatrical productions.
Raised stage with rear access to ‘green/dressing room’.
Lighting rig and sound booth.
The stage is perfect for smaller cast numbers, rehearsed readings, stand-up comedy, live music etc.
The space can accommodate up to 80 people seated or 100 standing.
Can be used in the style of a promenade theatre performance, where more than one space in Burdall’s Yard is used for a performance, with the audience following the actors/performers.
Dimensions for Main Stage are 15.45 x 5.67
(Please note that we will have a standard fixed rig across all performances).
THE GALLERY
Versatile space, more square in its formation.
It can accommodate 30 people seated, 50 standing, up to 15 participants for a class or workshop.
Audience arrangement can be adaptable to your event.
Can be used in the style of a promenade theatre performance, where more than one space in Burdall’s Yard is used for a performance, with the audience following the actors/performers.
Dimensions for The Gallery are 8.78 x 9.05
THE GALLERY DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY TECHNICAL SET-UP
THE STUDIO
The Studio is the most intimate space in Burdall’s Yard and can accommodate up to 20 people seated, 35 standing, up to 12 participants for a class or workshop.
Can be used in the style of a promenade theatre performance, where more than one space in Burdall’s Yard is used for a performance, with the audience following the performers.
Dimensions for The Studio are 9.10 x 4.06
THE STUDIO DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY TECHNICAL SET-UP
THE CAFE / BAR
This can also be used as a performance space, for immersive or promenade performances
Slightly adaptable audience arrangement, but primarily used as cafe/bar/foyer.
Can be used in the style of a promenade theatre performance, where more than one space in Burdall’s Yard is used for a performance, with the audience following the actors/performers.
THE BAR DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY TECHNICAL SET-UP
PARKING
There is no dedicated venue parking. We recommend parking in Morrisons’ Car Park which is a 5 minutes' walk away and provides up to 3 hours free parking with the ability to pay to extend.
LOADING / UNLOADING
Loading is either from Thomas Street or from the Pera Road drop off point where a fire exit leads down the terrace and into Main Stage. Please do NOT block off the road for other motorists, when unloading.
This is available for 20 minutes before vehicles need to park elsewhere.
